Donald Trump was inaugurated on Friday, January 20th, as  the 45th president of the United States. The ceremony is day-long, with festivities before and after. The former president Barack Obama attended, as well as Trump’s rival Hillary Clinton, and many others. At the inauguration, the band 3 Doors Down performed as well as singer Jackie Evancho. At the parade, the Talladega Marching Band and the Rockettes made an appearance. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir also performed.

Trump’s inauguration came with a lot of controversy. Protesters could be seen everywhere at the parade, and the day after, the whole world partook in the Women’s March to protest his presidency.

In his inaugural address, Trump promised to give the power back to the people. He also promised to put America first. He said, “We will bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. And we will bring back our dreams.”

No matter what is to come out of his presidency, good or bad, we all know it will be historic.
