On September 9th 2015, Apple held their newly annual iPad/iPhone event in Cupertino, CA. This year, the announcement of the iPhone 6 the iPad Pro was released. The iPad Pro is extremely similar to Microsoft’s surface in almost every way. The iPad Pro sports, a massive 12.9 inch screen which is of course Retina HD. Like always Apple upgraded the specs to match the competition in the tech market.

With this iPad, Apple introduced their new Apple A9X chip which brings quadruple CPU performance and 36x graphics improvement performance to the table. Just like with the iPhone 6 and 6s and OS X El Capitan, the iPad Pro uses Apple’s new Metal Core API(Application Programming Interface). This allows the graphics chip to directly interact with the CPU/GPU without the need to rewrite/re-render for OPEN GL (ES) which is a commonly used for graphics interface platform. Doing this allows for up to 10x draw call performance which is how fast a GPU can call and draw up the lines on a platform render. This also allows for improved performance all around for more smooth game play and more efficient battery management

The iPad Pro has an accessory called the Apple Keyboard. I wonder where they got that idea from (cough cough. Microsoft). Basically, the keyboard magnetically connects just like the Microsoft surface keyboard and it allows for a more mechanical feel while typing. Apple also has a new stylus called the Apple Pencil. It basically another way to interact with the interface. It can be used in a slew of applications and it is pressure sensitive so you can be a master artist on your iPad Pro. The only drawback is that the Apple Pencil costs $99 so it is kind of a waste if you just want to use it as a touch pen. The iPad Pro will be out later this holiday season and will cost a costly $800. But like any Apple product, it will surely be a hit!
