Neverseen

by

Shannon Messenger

Sometimes everyone is broken in their own way, no matter how hard they deny it.

For Sophie Foster, life is about to get even more complicated. Not long ago, Sophie found out that she was an elf living in the human world as an experiment and project. She is now one of the most wanted elf who, if caught, would be banished.

When Sophie and her friends join a secret organization, Black Swan, they hope that this will help stop a rebel group called Neverseen and the ogres. She and her friends had expected to go on missions. Much to their disappointment, they are sent into hiding as they try to improve their abilities. Sophie must stay hidden because Neverseen wants her and her friends dead.

As Sophie is trying to get back the past and memories she lost, she isn’t the only one with major problems. One of her closest friend just found out that his mother was part of Neverseen and is starting to doubt himself more than what anyone can imagine. And the fact that Black Swan is still keeping secrets from them doesn’t help.

In additional to all the problems, there is a serious plague that needs to be stopped. As Sophie tries to solve all the problems, she learns that some people aren’t who they say they are. And that there are somethings that she can’t fix, no matter how hard she tries, and just needs to trust.

This is a book about sacrificing, friendships, bonding, betrayal, being desperate and more importantly, trust. You won’t even notice the time fly as you read this almost 700 page book. It creates a blackhole of emotions in your stomach that will remain long after you finish the book. Neverseen is undoubtedly one of Messenger’s best works and an perfect addition to the Keepers of the Lost Cities series.

With action, suspense, humor, friendship, and adventure Neverseen is a very memorable book that all ages can enjoy. (Fantasy, 9 & up)
